The Call of the Wild
by AHMED SEDDIQI & SONS
Nature is the ultimate tonic, and now that summer’s inferno is waning to a dull ember, the insistent whisper of green and blue is somehow easier to hear. The rhythm of nature – her patterns, sounds and colours – retunes our internal systems, a reset button we all need from time to time. Whether you’re diving into the opportunities presented by a cerulean ocean surface, ascending to new heights courtesy of mountain hikes or simply heading out into who-cares-where for a long, restorative stroll, we’ve got timepieces aplenty whose spirit and style nods to escapades in the great outdoors
Corum Admiral 45 Chronograph
For when you’re sporty… but also super-luxurious
The Admiral Cup line was originally created in 1960, not long after the brand itself was launched, and, making a big impression then, continues to be something of an iconic design for the brand, not least for its super-distinctive 12-sided case. The dodecagonal shape remains in this titanium edition, and over the years the design has been modernized to ensure the watch remains contemporary and relevant.
Paying homage to the maritime world, it is reassuringly water-resistant to 100 metres, with a power reserve of 42 hours – a watch for a wearer unafraid to set sail for distant shores, or at least on a very fancy yacht cruise around the UAE coastline.

Ulysse Nardin Diver X Antartica
For ultimate adventurers
The Vendee Globe is widely considered to be the most challenging sailing race in the world, testing the mettle of the most experienced sailors to the absolute limits as it takes in over 40,000 kilometres around the circumference of the earth. The Diver X collection honours those brave enough to tackle the world’s roughest seas. The titanium Antarctica edition, limited to 300 pieces, comes in an icy palette of blue, white and grey against a rubber strap. Each 44mm watch is individually numbered while the watch is powered by Ulysse Nardin’s signature cutting-edge horology courtesy of its Caliber UN-188 manufacture movement.

Oris Aquis Dat Watt Limited Edition
For eco-warriors and nature activists
The blue dial on this eye-catching steel wristwatch tells myriad stories in addition to its time-telling function, allowing the wearer to better understand the lunar cycle and even the tidal range in the Northern Hemisphere. This is achieved thanks to an Oris-developed ‘Pointer Moon’ function which employs a central pointer hand to indicate the tidal range displayed as a white outline on the dial. The same hand also shows the waxing and waning of the moon. The watch has been created with part-sales going towards conservation efforts of the Wadden Sea, the world’s largest tidal flat system and one that is unfortunately severely impacted by human activity. Oris wears its sustainability credentials with pride and so this timepiece rightly deserves a mention – those who love the environment can confidently support it through acquiring this feelgood blue watch.

Breitling Super Avenger Chronograph 48 Night Mission
For those on a mission
Bold and blue, this large 48mm watch makes an unmistakable statement for any wearer thanks both to its impressive – yet incredibly lightweight – dimensions. The DLC-coated titanium case material encircles a deep blue dial with ultra-legible SuperLuminova-coated indices evoking the stenciled numbers on aircraft carriers. A true tool watch in addition to being a style statement, its large crown and pushers mean it can be used while wearing gloves. Extremely shock-resistant, the COSC-certified chronometer is ultra-reliable whether in the skies or beneath the ocean – did we mention that it’s also water-resistant to 300 metres.
