The spirit of the nation embodies us as we have celebrated the 46th anniversary of the union of the Emirates. Despite being a relatively young country, the UAE has gained incredible momentum, international respect, and recognition for its innovation and leadership across all sectors, including in the esoteric and niche horological industry.

NATIONAL TREASURES
by AHMED SEDDIQI & SONS
Establishing itself as the regional epicenter for horology, Dubai has carefully cultivated a dense and profound relationship with luxury brands and its clientele. This is evident in Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons continuous efforts in collaborating with industry powerhouses and creating unique assortment of watch pieces that will honour its national customers. When it comes to Dubai edition watches, the proverbial cup overfloweth. From sporty watches to classic timepieces, the breadth of Dubai branded luxury timepieces is readily available to anyone who would like to dabble in the exclusive creations.
Let’s take a look at a few astonishing pieces dedicated to our wonderful city.
Designed by the artistic micro engineering and inventive luxury brand, MBandF launched the limited edition LM1 M.A.D Dubai as a heartfelt mechanical thank you note to the city. Producing only 13 pieces, the customized edition is easily distinguished from its range by the eye-catching vivid green of its CVD- treated movement main plate, as well as the Arabic numerals of the "home time" sub dial.
For our horological enthusiasts who have a more classic palette, Tag Hueur commissioned the creation of the timeless Carrera Calibre 5, emblazoned with the UAE national flag at 6 o’clock and stand-out hand-applied rose gold plated indexes at 12 and 2 o’clock. Supplying only 250 pieces, the UAE Carrera is filled with TAG Heuer’s highest quality features, including a sterling silver dial with azure and sunray parts, a casing, crown and bracelet made of the best caliber steel and certified water resistance to 50 meters.
A great way to commemorate the city, Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons and IWC Schaffhausen produced a scarce 200 pieces of an Arabized iconic Portugieser chronograph where a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Al Jalila Foundation. Set up by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum in 2013, the foundation aims to support and fund local educational and research programmes. Ref. 371489, the Portugieser Chronograph Edition Seddiqi hosts a brown alligator bracelet accompanied with a midnight blue dial sporting an elegant attractiveness. Additionally, the back of the dial is engraved with the seal of the foundation.
Available for purchase within the emirates in select boutiques, the aforementioned watches manifest the appreciation and acknowledgment luxury watch brands and Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons have for their UAE clientele.
As we embark into the year of Zayed, we come to realize that there is no better timepiece for a national horology enthusiast to wear than one that showcases the identity and virtues of our lovely homeland.
