The two-part event started on January 31 at a private dinner at the famous Scalini, where Hublotistas and friends interacted with members of Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons and the Hublot Middle East and Africa team. Guests tried on their favourite watches and learned more about the interesting features that characterize the new timepieces.
The star of the new collection, the Big Bang Unico Golf, in partnership with world #1 Golfer Dustin Johnson, is dedicated to the ultimate precision sport – golf. Hublot designed, developed, manufactured and assembled a module to equip its new UNICO movement with a function specifically created for golf, allowing golfers to seamlessly calculate their score whilst on course.
A first in Hublot’s range for ladies, the Big Bang One-Click 39mm takes on sapphire, with the elegant, modern, understated and irresistible Big Bang One-Click Sapphire! Confirming that beauty truly comes from within, the watch is cut from white, pink or blue sapphire, and dons an interchangeable rubber strap to suit any occasion and any look.
In the same spirit of transparency, the Big Bang Unico Sapphire Galaxy 45mm was inspired by the billions of stars found in the solar system. On the bezel, amethysts and sapphires in rose, orange, fuchsia and different shades of blue evoke the Milky Way with its constellation of stars.
Forged in blue ceramic, the Big Bang Meca-10 Blue Ceramic opens to a bluish skeleton mechanism and comes with a rubber strap in the same royal color. The modern and distinctive watch emulates the company's defining “Art of Fusion” concept in combining elements that ordinarily never appear together. The case, bezel and folding clasp are made of high-tech ceramic with high temperature sintering. Very hard and solid, yet lighter than steel, it resists scratches and ageing.
In 2012, Hublot launched its collaboration with Ferrari with the iconic Big Bang Ferrari, presented in a ground-breaking and patented alloy, Magic Gold. The brand relaunches this year the Big Bang Ferrari Magic Gold Ferrari in its new design, in honor of both its immutable partnership with Ferrari, and what is considered as the world’s most resistant and hard metal.
The Classic Fusion AeroFusion Chronograph Orlinski perfectly shows how “Hublot Loves Art”; Hublot and French artist Richard Orlinski combined their know-how to create a work of art which shows time and brings to life the artist's graphic universe. The watch features a brand-new design playing with angles and reflections. Ridges and facets on the watch reflect each other, from case to bezel, push buttons to hands.
The timeless Classic Fusion Ceramic Integrated Bracelet, a must-have collection with the Hublot insignia, now incorporates a black ceramic bracelet. Available in chronograph or three-hand date mode with a matt black or glossy blue dial, this unisex “Art of Fusion” icon has the laid-back style of a perfectly designed classic.
Four collections, including one for women, have been created from the partnership that combines the innovative approach of Lapo Elkann with the watchmaking and technological expertise of the Hublot Manufacture. For 2018, the stylish Hublot Classic Fusion Italia Independent has been given a sporty twist with the addition of a chronograph movement to three different limited editions. All three Classic Fusion Chronograph Italia Independent sport exquisite fabrics chosen from the archives of the legendary Italian tailor Rubinacci.
“We are happy to be back in Dubai as part of our tour in the region and to share our latest watches with our collectors and members of the press. The Hublot family in this part of the world is growing year on year, and we are confident our novelties will attract existing and new clients alike,” said David Tedeschi.
The second part of the event welcomed members of the press on February 1 at Hublot Boutique at The Dubai Mall. The flagship boutique was buzzing with excitement as guests discovered the novelties in a warm and colourful atmosphere that reflects the brand’s “Art of Fusion” philosophy.
Commenting on the event, Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons Chief Commercial Officer Mohammed Abdulmagied Seddiqi said: “We are proud to host the yearly Hublot Roadshow in Dubai. Our great partnership with Hublot has led to many exciting projects here, and we’re looking forward to much more to come.”
The Geneva Days 2018 Novelties Roadshow will travel to Bahrain next, then to Kuwait, before heading over to Riyadh, and ending its current journey in Jeddah. With football being the brand’s big theme for 2018 in anticipation of the FIFA World Cup 2018, this year promises to be as big and exciting as ever.
